Keeping the Bressehuhn

These chickens are a very robust and happy breed that are not very demanding. The fence doesn’t need to be too high, as they hardly have an urge to fly.

Character of Bressen

They tend to be somewhat calmer chickens and are not fidgety. With a little more patience than with other chickens and small bribes, they also become quite tame. The pullets are sometimes very lazy and like to lie around, but this is normal for them.

Eggs from Bresse hens

The hens lay approx. 220 white eggs weighing 60g per year. The pullets start laying at around 18 weeks.
