General information about the Bielefeld Kennhuhn

The Bielefeld Kennhuhn was bred in Hanover in the 1970s. The name Kennhuhn comes from the fact that the hens and cocks can already be distinguished on the day of hatching by their differently marked feathers. They contain Amrocks, Mecheleners, New Hampshires and Rhodelanders. They are bantam hens and are known for their laying performance as well as their rapid growth.
