Keeping Antwerp bearded dwarfs
They require relatively little housing space and are not sensitive to the cold due to their lush plumage in the head area. Dwarf cockerels start crowing very early and do so very loudly. It is also advisable to provide these animals with a so-called all-round drinker, in which the water level is lower and their beards do not get wet.
Character of Antwerp bearded dwarfs
Bearded dwarfs are friendly but also lively animals. With good care, these cheeky chickens quickly become tame and trusting. However, their rather nervous nature means that the roosters sometimes mess with people during the mating season. The hens very rarely get into a breeding mood, but when they do, the hens lead their offspring safely.
Eggs from Antwerp bearded dwarf hens
The hens lay approx. 90 white to cream-colored eggs with an impressive weight of up to 35g.
